DoctorsHealthPress.com Reports on New Study that Reveals the Best Ways to Shed Pounds

Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 19, 2012

The Doctors Health Press, a publisher of various natural health newsletters, books and reports, including the popular online Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin, is reporting on a new major study out of Boston that has identified which obese dieters are succeeding the most.

As reported in Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 (http://www.doctorshealthpress.com/weight-loss-articles/new-study-reveals-the-best-ways-to-shed-pounds), researchers have found a substantial number of obese participants did successfully shed pounds when they stuck to three specific weight loss goals.

The Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin article reports that in a nationally representative sample of obese dieters found that people were more likely to lose weight if they:

Ate less fat

Exercised more

Used prescription medications

What did not contribute to success were fad diets, diet pills and diet foods.

The data are culled from the 2001-2006 National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey, which collects demographic, health, and health behavior information from U.S. adults. From a sample of more than 4,000 obese adults with a body mass index of 30 or higher, 63% had tried to shed pounds in the previous year. Of these people, 40% lost five percent of their weight or more, while 20% lost 10% or more.

People were more likely to drop at least five percent of body weight if they reported eating less fat, exercising more, and using medications. Those who lost at least 10% were also more likely to have joined a weight loss program. While a 10% drop is best for improving health in an obese individual, a modest weight loss of five percent can lead to health benefits.

Liquid diets, non-prescription diet pills, and popular diets showed no association with successful weight loss. Those who lost more than 10% of body weight were less likely to report eating diet foods and products, compared to those who lost less.

This suggests that the structure of being in a program may be quite important for success. As well, it is possible that some dieters may be overeating diet products because they believe they are healthy, or low in calories.

The Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin article also reports that while they did find that medications intended to shed pounds were related to success, only a small number of study participants used them.

Diet Doc Weight Loss Announces a hCG Weight Loss Program that Aid in Detoxifying the Body, Which Helps People on Fast Diets Lose Weight Rapidly, Yet Safely

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 17, 2012

Diet Diet is offering hCG weight loss programs that support detoxification of the major organs in the body. With the growing trend in total-body detoxification programs, their system is designed to support weight- loss naturally through putting the body in a state of ketosis and is combined with daily doses of prescription grade hCG with B12, which is found to accelerate the bodys natural fat-burning process. With these two key functions, the body is able to then cleanse itself through a few of the major detox organs, the colon, kidney and the liver. Diet Docs Medical Director, Dr. Rao, states many chronic illnesses like obesity, diabetes and depression can be attributed to the lack of nutrition and overabundance of unwanted substance in the body. Under these conditions, the body loses its natural ability to detoxify at the same rate toxins are introduced to the body and it is at this rate that we lose the natural harmony and equilibrium.

Diet Docs weight loss program offers a supervised ketogenic diet specific to the individuals needs. We offer a thorough evaluation of our patients health history before they begin their diet plan and will often find the underlying causes for the weight gain and how to best keep it off, says Dr. Rao.

Diet Doc is quickly becoming the leader in hCG weight loss programs with their clientele found nationwide. Their program differs from all the rest through their new line of pre- made meals as well as meal replacement bars and shakes, which sold-out completely with the initial release. They currently are working to expand further through key collaborations with nutritional companies and hope to release their new programs this fall.

TCBYS Launch Of Greek Fro-Yo Makes The Nation Shout Opa!

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) April 05, 2012

TCBY, the category pioneer and innovator, has done it again. Just a year after setting the standard for nutrition with the launch of the Super Fro-Yo classification, TCBY announces the next evolution of soft serve frozen yogurt with the first-to-market Greek Fro-Yo, available in stores nationwide today.

Honey Vanilla will be the first flavor to launch, which packs a nutritional punch including twice the amount of protein found in Super Fro-Yo. With only 110 calories, 0 grams of fat and 20 percent of daily requirements for both calcium and vitamin D, this yogurt boasts a tangy texture that leaves you full and satisfied. Offered toppings suggested to complement and enhance the yogurts flavor include honey, granola and fruit.

Consumers look to Greek yogurt as a satisfying, filling and healthy option In fact, Greek yogurt is 76 percent more likely to be eaten as a meal replacement, says Dr. Wayne Geilman. Greek Fro-Yo moves beyond just a snack or treat, serving up a more robust meal option and including toppings such as fruit, honey and granola.

Over the past five years, the percentage of adults interested in adding more protein and probiotics to their diets has pragmatically increased, according to a study released by MSN. It is due to these healthier eating aspirations, that is driving Greek yogurt growth. Greek yogurt is growing at a compound annual growth rate of 130 percent and has evolved from relative obscurity to the segment driving the vast majority of category growth. In support of the poised growth, TCBY plans to introduce additional new flavors to the marketplace in summer 2012.

For 30 years, we have been challenging our Research and Development team of nutritionists and flavor profilers to continue to exceed the healthy nutritionals in our products, states Tim Casey, President and CEO, TCBY. We knew after revolutionizing the industry with Super Fro-Yo standards in 2011, we would need to break new ground. What we came up with is the healthiest product on the market Greek Fro-Yo. What you will experience is a richer texture and pleasingly tangier tasting frozen yogurt that is loaded with healthy attributes.

Theres Still Time to Win!

TCBY is currently running a Greek Challenge on Facebook from now to May 31, and it encourages consumers to incorporate the companys Greek frozen yogurt into their diets. As part of the Greek Challenge, TCBY invites fans to replace one meal a week with TCBY Greek frozen yogurt, which exceeds the nutritionals of industry-leading Super Fro-Yo.
